"The Caplan Method of Stain Removal" is a package put together by Stan Caplan, a leading industry expert. Included are a one hour and 17 minute video, a comprehensive 86-page handbook and a quick-spotting guide for use directly at the spotting board.
In the video, Caplan explains and demonstrates procedures for removing stains from each of the eight major categories and for "special" stains. Backing up the video presentation is the handbook which explains in detail both the theory and practice of stain removal. Each page of The Spotter's Quick Guide has been coated with a chemically resistant enamel for use on or near the spotting board. It is indexed in the front, allowing quick reference to the stain removal techniques for hundreds of stains. The back cover features Caplan's recommended spotting board layout.
The package lets plant owners and managers quickly train new personnel wherever and whenever it is convenient or to retrain existing personnel in the "Caplan Method."
Caplan has nearly 50 years experience in the drycleaning industry, including many years owning and operating his own multi-million dollar laundry and drycleaning facility on the army depot at Fort Meade, Maryland. He followed that with 10 years at the International Fabricare Institute where he served as chief instructor and wrote many of the bulletins and other education materials. Since leaving IFI, he has worked as a teacher, lecturer and consultant to the cleaning industry and organized and operated the drycleaning school sponsored by the Texas Laundry and Drycleaning Association at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. In addition to his many years of varied experience in the industry, he also hold college degrees in law, accounting and engineering.
